Julia Bell graduated with a degree in English and Fine Arts from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and later studied Interior Design at Parsons School of Design in New York. Soon after, she got her start in the industry by working as an interior design stylist on the home design programme "Surprise by Design" which, at the time, was the Discovery Channel's highest-rated daytime television series.
When she relocated to London, she designed and decorated sets for a number of television commercials and music videos before moving on to interior design full time in 2005. She gained experience at several design practices where she worked on a variety of restaurant projects, from Michelin starred Kitchen W8, The Square and Chez Bruce to family-friendly chain Giraffe, as well as a range of high-end residential projects, both in and outside of London. She set up her own design practice in 2012, with a focus on residential interiors.
Julia is bi-lingual in English and German - she was born and raised in Germany and has lived in the U.S. and U.K. She recently relocated to Auckland, New Zealand with her family. She operates in both London and Auckland.
